Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Summary

The Employment Practices Sr Analyst will provide analytical and process support within the Employment Practices and HR Compliance areas to ensure corporate and regulatory adherence. The analyst will lead and participate in the development and execution of Employment Practices programs and will conduct routine and ad hoc data analyses to maintain data integrity and process efficiency. They will analyze and interpret data to recommend operational improvements and will identify opportunities for enhancing processes to boost compliance and customer service. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and manage specific processes, such as Form I9 compliance, pre-employment adjudications, and performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions. The Sr Analyst, Employment Practices reports to the Senior Manager, Employment Practices.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Provides analytical and process support within Employment Practices (EP) and HR Compliance (HRC) areas.
  • Works across Employment Practices and key functional areas, as well as with business partners, to anticipate, evaluate and address issues.
  • Leads or participates in the development and execution of key Employment Practices programs, optimization processes and related efforts.
  • Performs ongoing, routine, and ad hoc data analyses, ensuring overall process / system timeliness, accuracy and data integrity.
  • Analyzes data and information to ensure adherence to corporate, functional, legal, and other standards and requirements.
  • Researches best practices and emerging trends as well as metrics and analyses to recommend improvements for operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identifies opportunities for process and procedural enhancement to drive compliance, efficiency and customer service improvements.
  • Participates as a key contributor in the development and delivery of strategically focused Employment Practices initiatives and programs.
  • Leverages HR, company, employee and business understanding to assist with development of strategies, initiatives and programs.
  • Assists Employment Practices leadership with the prioritization and coordination of system and process improvements.
  • Collaborates with change management, training and communication resources to document, educate and inform key stakeholders.
  • Oversee specific processes within the CEI Employment Practices, such as:
    • Manages the daily administration of CEI’s Form I9 compliance process, including reviewing I-9 documentation to verify compliance with USCIS standards and working with HR Tech and other divisional compliance colleagues to implement changes and improvements to the I9 tool (Fragomen).
    • Perform pre-employment adjudications, to include conducting individualized assessments resulting in hiring recommendations in line with employment regulations.
    • Provides consultative guidance and recommendations to CEI leaders on issues related to employee disciplinary action and performance improvement plans (PIPs) based on best practices, company policies, practices, and core values; will collaborate and refer any situations to HRBPs and Employee Relations team, as appropriate.
    • Provide project coordination for the cross-divisional Time Away council (MyTime), including managing projects, meeting deadlines, creating agendas, and general administrative assistance to the council.
    • Supports the data gathering and analysis for various federal or state compliance reporting needs.
  • Provides standard human resource answers related to policies, procedures, and escalates complex issues to appropriate leadership team.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to various employment laws, including EEO, affirmative action, labor relations, and human resources.
  • May provide occasional project coordination for employment practices and HR policy projects to support established timelines and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
  • Support special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, business, or related field and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Experience with workplace investigations, union avoidance, employee advocacy, and state and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills in difficult situations; able to summarize and present information from various sources; foresee and solve problems.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to use technology software to support projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • High customer service focus; a team player with a solid work ethic.
  • Ability to perform effectively under competing and/or conflicting demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement and handle confidential and sensitive employee information and follow strict data privacy standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in employment practices and/or employment law compliance desired
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
