First, they must be in good shape. This makes sense, and if your frames are beaten up anyway, it may be time for a new pair, even if you have loved the frames you have for years. Another asterisk following this answer is that LensCrafters will probably not put new lenses in your frames if they are not high quality.

It depends on which Walmart you go to. Some Walmart's will replace the lenses in your frames and since they want to sell their own frames they usually add $25.00 to the cost of the lenses in a customer's own frame. You will need to call your local Walmart to find out their individual policy for your location.

If your lenses are damaged or your prescription is out of date, you don't necessarily need new glasses. Instead of springing for new pair, you can simply replace your lenses. This works out well if you're on a budget or you just really like your current frames.

Retail Markup

Many brands apply retail markups to their glasses, and some companies can significantly inflate prices compared to wholesale costs. If you buy from a brick-and-mortar optical retailer, the price may include additional expenses for rent, utilities, employee salaries, and more.

In-house optical lab: Some optometrist offices and eyewear retailers have in-house optical labs. These labs can make some eyeglass lenses in an hour or so.

In most cases, it will take between 7 and 14 days for a new set of prescription eyewear. This timeframe is also impacted by where you get your prescription filled. Brick-and-mortar vision stores typically deliver orders in one to two weeks.

Most orders will be processed at one of our U.S-based Central Manufacturing Centers, which can take up to 14 days.
